Heating Things Up

OIR recently upgraded our handheld thermal imaging camera. This new camera has some great features, including: color imaging, wifi capabilities, increased storage space, and higher quality imaging. With this camera, temperature is measured and displayed in real-time on the screen, which is used to detect and pinpoint wet insulation on existing roofs. As the outside temperatures drop in the evening, the scanner picks up the heat emitted from both wet and dry insulation. Knowing where the wet insulation is and the quantity helps when drafting up an estimate.

OIR purchased a drone recently. With this technology, we are able to capture the highest quality (4K) photos and videos currently possible. These photos and flyover videos are then used for video displays, marketing, overall before and afters of projects, and photos for our clients. In house, the ease of estimating multi-level roofs with multiple penetrations as well as the capabilty to measure both horizontal and overall roof dimensions has been a huge benefit and added efficiency!

We have recently added Johns Manville (JM) to our commercial roofing product line. JM offers a very wide range of building materials. Our plan is to utilize their commercial roofing membranes (TPO/PVC/EPDM) and insulations to service our customers and add more products to our lineup.

We, with the technology of the nuclear scanner, can scan roofs to determine the actual moisture level to a precise percentage. While the thermal gun is used in the evening, the nuclear scanner can be used during normal business hours. This gives us more specific information on the roof to help give our client better service. We can also use this to help us with leak detection when needed.
